Is it not true that there are Christians who fear that the gospel will not work if a society becomes anti-Christian?

And they live their lives complaining rather than serving.

And Peter is speaking to these Christians

and saying, the principal lesson we need to learn

is that the gospel works everywhere,

because Christ is always with his people.

Do you get a sense of discouragement from Christians today?

The negative is certainly amplified through social media,

and things are changing rapidly all around us.

But God's word doesn't give us reason to be discouraged.

I will build my church, Jesus says.

And this week's study is in a New Testament letter that should bring each of us encouragement.
