and today we are exploring one of the most remarkable cities of Tudor England, and that is Tudor York,

As the city awakens, we start our day by exploring the imposing city walls, the most complete medieval

city walls still standing in England today, by the way. The walls of York were a silent

witness to the turbulent Tudor era, a time of, of course, religious turmoil, power struggles,

and significant societal change. They served as both a symbol and a physical embodiment

of York's strategic significance. These fortifications saw many modifications during the Tudor

Our walk takes us along the circuit of the walls, which during

the Tudor period would have been patrolled by city guards, and our first stop is the infamous

Micklegate bar. As you stand beneath its time-worn stones, you can almost feel the weight of history

pressing in around you. This was the traditional ceremonial

gate for monarchs entering the city, yet it was also a stark reminder of the fate that befell those
