Today on the podcast, I have the great privilege of speaking with the one and only, Ky Robinson. Ky competes for Stanford University, where he has slowly cemented himself as one of the top runners in the NCAA. Not only is Ky a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA, but Ky is also one of the top runners in his home country, Australia, having represented them at global championships, including the Eugune World Championships last summer, where he competed in the 5k. Just in the span of the short few months of indoor track, Ky has run 13:11 in the 5k, and 3:55 in the mile. Ky was also recently selected to represent his country Australia at the 2023 World XC Championships that will take place in Bathurst, Australia, this February 18.
This discussion with Ky was an absolute blast. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, and am confident you will, too. Ky dives deep into running for Stanford University and all aspects of that experience, from the workouts to the culture to specific races. We also go into his upbringing in the sport in Australia and his decision to come over to the US for college. We also go into this upcoming year and his outlook on it, including the 2023 World XC Championships coming up next weekend.
Lastly, Ky answers some listener questions, and we start to discuss the possibilities of a Spikeball dynasty in Palo Alto, this Fall. Needless to say, tune in!
