This next 18-atchbook, number seven, is the one principle on attribute that I learned

at my first personal development workshop when I was 18 years old.

This understanding is what set me free.

It liberated me from my background, my upbringing, and the limiting circumstances.

It changed the course of my life from that moment forward.

It's responsible for getting me where I am and being with you now.

You see, to be a successful society, I thought that you had to be smart, that success was

going to be based on what innate intelligence or talent that you had or how you scored

on the IQ test or the SAT by what colleges you got into, what grades you received, by

who you knew, what contacts you had, what alumni or fraternity or country club that

you were a member of, where you came from what family background you had.

It seemed from listening to the news and all other people that to be successful that you

needed to have the right president in office, the right policies in Washington, the right

economy needed to be doing well.

That luck, market timing, being in the right place at the right time, was a significant

factor to one success.

But then I learned that none of that had anything to do with my ability to be successful, none

of it.

But if anything was to be all of it, was up to me.
