Hello, Wine Embers. My name is Jesse Mekin with another episode of The Wine Em Podcast,

where we teach you four rules to help you stop a paycheck to paycheck, get out of debt,

and save more money. I hope you had a Merry Christmas. I really hope you did. And here

we are the day after, also a fun day. I hope you're avoiding the returns thing, the day

after that busy time. This is my tactic for you. Not so much to do with money. Oh, no.

That's not true, because everything has something to do with money. As you're thinking

through next year and you're planning your following rule to you're looking ahead to

that large less frequent expense that we call the holidays. And you are saying, we're

going to spend X. And then you set a target in the Wine Embers software if you are so inclined

to use our software. And you're saying, okay, we're going to set aside that much each month

and make sure that we're ready for Christmas, totally ready for these holidays. That's

cool. That's perfect. That's exactly what you should do. I want to augment that with

a little more information. I want you to sit down with a pencil and paper, your favorite

notes app, whatever. And I want you to brain dump all of the things you learned in the

last call it 72 hours. And I've probably shared this before, but my post Christmas note that

I send myself that then arrives October 1st is extremely useful. So I have ideas, like

I have thoughts during the festivities where I think, oh, next year we're going to do

it more like this or that didn't fly or that was a huge hit. Wow. I'm surprised, but

I just I brained up. I take notes. And we've got these seven kids. We want Christmas to

be magical and all those things. It's frankly, it's for me and Julie. It's way fun making

them magical. But you know, I wanted to be great, but I also want to not have it be crazy.

And I want us to remember the real meaning of Christmas and all those things. So I'll
