This episode takes us behind the scenes of director Bradley Cooper's new romantic musical drama, A Star is Born.

Mr. Cooper pulls double duty in the film, also starring as Jackson Jack Main, a seasoned musician who falls in love with a struggling singer and actress named Allie, played by Lady Gaga. Ali has just about given up on her dream to make it big until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight.

But as Ali's career begins a meteoric rise, Jax takes a tumble as his own internal

demons take their toll. A Star is Born marks Mr. Cooper's directorial debut. Following a recent

screening of the film at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles, Mr. Cooper spoke with director

Jason Bateman about appearing on both sides of the camera while filming a star is born.

During their conversation, Mr. Cooper discusses his sonic portrayal of the rise to fame,

the challenge of shooting the concert footage in actual festivals across the U.S. and England,

and his approach to directing and acting with Lady Gaga.
