is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.

is like a city broken into and left without walls.

| 1:07.8 | look at verse 19. He says, trusting in a treacherous man in a time of trouble is like a bad tooth or |
| 1:16.4 | a foot that slips. So he's given us a very strong visuals there, a bad tooth. I mean we all know |
| 1:23.9 | what that's like. It's just this cost of ache in your mouth that kind of ruins your whole being. |
| 1:28.9 | I mean your head hurts. Your body starts to hurt. You just feel miserable. He's saying that's |
| 1:33.4 | the same way you're going to feel if you're trusting in a treacherous person in a time of trouble. |
| 1:40.0 | During a time when you really need someone to be there, that treacherous person is not going to be |
| 1:45.6 | helpful. In fact, it's going to make the whole situation worse. So friends, Solomon's |
| 1:52.2 | admonition here is for us to be wise about the people we put our faith in, for us to assess |
| 1:57.4 | character, for us to be people who are willing to make judgments about the character of other people |
| 2:02.5 | so that we can protect ourselves from the bad circumstances that could come about if we're trusting |
