So can you just kind of explain how you even got started in this cold water open

water swimming because i feel like that's something that most people are not doing on their day-to-day

adventures probably not um the way i get started i've actually been a swimmer all my life um

was a pool swimmer throughout grade school and university and then kind of stepped away from it

because I was working on Wall Street for many years after college.

After a bit, I started to get back into running and triathlons and then some open water

swimming, which was really unique.

And just really on a whim, we were planning a trip, my boyfriend and I, to see the

Northern Lights in Finland. And we were going up to a place called Kekslouten, where they have

these amazing glass igloos up there, great viewing potential for the Northern Lights. And we were also

going to see Friends in Helsinki. And then kind of just out of the blue, an email popped up on my English Channel
