Good morning my friends, good afternoon, good evening, whatever time it is.

Welcome. It's time for you and me to get our minds aligned with the truth of God.

Now, I hear sometimes accusations or criticisms that people

bring toward the Christian faith and toward those who practice the Christian faith or observe

the Christian way of life.

And they say that we sometimes are naive, we don't understand how the world works. We you know kind of kind of Pollyanna ish

Do a broad brush across things and I admit that sometimes believers can do those things.

But the Christian faith itself,

the way that truth is conveyed to us by God himself, is not any of those things. It is as realistic and as down to

earth and practical as can be taking into account the realities of life on a fallen planet.

My friends, the reason I bring that up is because in Galatians chapter 5,

the Apostle Paul with the very last verse of the chapter says something that seems a little bit out of place

until you stop to realize he's trying to be as realistic and practical as he can be for the sake of those who are reading his instruction.

Because they need to understand the battle that they are up against.

Now let me set the context here. The apostle Paul has already told us throughout the book of Galatians that no amount of observing the law can justify us before God, which means doing human good works and good deeds

cannot please God to the point that he forgives us and accepts us into his family.

That work has to be accomplished some other way and in fact that work cannot be accomplished by us.

We simply don't have the means That work cannot be accomplished by us.

We simply don't have the means to pull it off.

And so, our Heavenly Father, not content

to leave us separated from himself,

sent his son, who was the one
