Alan and Diane Johnson had a life that many dream of.

The pair were longtime sweethearts, having been together for 20 wonderful years, had a beautiful

home situated on the outskirts of Sun Valley, Idaho, worked good jobs, and had two

loving children.

Matt, who was in 2003, 22 years old, and 16-year-old Sarah.

Unfortunately, on September 2, 2003, all of that success, love, and comfort was brutally ripped away from them when both Alan and Diane were shot to death inside of their own home. Police were informed of the tragedy when Sarah absolutely devastated, made a frantic phone

call to 911. And when they arrived, officers found Diane lying in her master bedroom with a shot

to the head, likely delivered while she was sleeping,

and Alan with two shots to the chest as he exited the shower.

The sole survivor of the horrific double murder, Sarah was taken into protective custody

and then questioned about what exactly she might have seen and heard the morning of her parents' deaths.

According to her claims, Sarah had been fast asleep in her bedroom when, at around 6.20 a.m.,

she heard the booming sound of gunfire.

Terrified, she ran into her parents' bedroom and found them both lying there in pools of their own blood.
