There was a time in my life when I was filled with hopelessness and despair, but because of Jesus, I now experienced living hope in a secure future.

Our passage today is from Acts 17, 26, through 27.

So this is week two of our series called At the Table, short little three week series

and really wanted to address what is an elephant

in our cultural moment, in the moment of history that we find ourselves in.

In 2023, the Surgeon General of the United States of America created a pretty good-sized

document and rolled out a new surgeon general warning,

like that thing you see on the pack of cigarettes. And the warning was not about something we're

ingesting. It's not about something we're eating, although there's significant issues there.

But it's what he calls an epidemic of loneliness, that we have lost the ability to connect,

to belong, to feel seen, to understand our value.
