Summary

I want to share a special story with you today that I don't share very often. It's my personal story about why I left my marriage with someone that drank too much and suffered from addiction. Every woman's path will be different, but I hope you find comfort and encouragement in mine.

You're listening to the Love Over Addiction Podcast. Hey, it's Michelle, and I'm so glad you're with us, and I'm so glad you're with us, and I know I say this all the time, but I just wanted to remind you how much I love you and how much I believe in you.

And you are going through this very painful, very anxious time in your life for a purpose.

And the purpose is so that you can grow into the woman that you were destined to become.

It wasn't, your purpose in this life is not to help them get sober, That's not your job. Your purpose is to use this pain and

suffering as an opportunity to become a woman who is full of confidence, who understands and

respects her own boundaries, who is an advocate for herself and her children against this disease, who can help people, but who

knows how to help herself first.

And those were all things that I know I was lacking before I fell in love

with somebody who was suffering from alcohol and

I look back on my life now and I think that that very painful relationship

that felt really like honest to God unbearable at sometimes and I know you who are

listening I know you get that like I know there are moments in your life where you feel so full of despair, so helpless,

because you see this great phenomenal human being who you know has so much potential and you can't help them and they

keep hurting you and the more you help the worst things feel like they're getting.

And you just don't have the answers.

You want to save your relationship.

You want to save your family.

And you know that if they just got sober, if they finally

committed to that without like relapsing every other day, the things would get

better, that you would finally have that life that you dream about having, but it's not happening, and you feel helpless and stuck.

And let me tell you, I totally understand how that feels because I felt like that for years.
