Are they really dead?

A conversation with Amelia Connor.

... Amelia Cotter has always been drawn to the paranormal.

As a young girl, she found herself drawn to the abandoned mansion that stood steps outside the doors of her father's

restaurant. Amelia would spend her hours exploring the abandoned rooms, halls, and living spaces

that someone at some time called home. She imagined what life must have been like for the family

who lived there. Eventually one day, she would come face to face with

a former resident, a resident who had passed on, and one she would come to name Walter. This would be

the beginning of a lifelong journey exploring the world of the supernatural for Amelia Connor.

Well, I guess I've taken two parallel paths.

From when I was a child, I became interested both in ghosts and in the world of writing.

And because of that, I was at the library at a very young age, even before I was really good with reading.

I would spend a lot of time in what was then called the occult

section where all of the awesome ghost story books and UFO and Bigfoot and what we now

consider the occult, those were all kind of lumped into one place. I would just, you know,

eat up all of that information. And I remember growing interested in ghost hunting.

Now at the time, I was like probably about eight or nine years old.

So my junior ghost hunting expeditions were very, very, probably what we would think of as cute.

And I had a little junior like ghost hunting book that was for kids.

And I grew up in Maryland, so I had the unique opportunity to explore a lot of the

abandoned and historic places that I grew up near.
