and a fellow in the Life and Family Initiative at the Ethics and Public Policy Center.

What was revealed in a recent New York Times story about Los Angeles's notorious Figueroa Street?

The story was a long report on sex trafficking of children who are

being pimped out on a notorious stretch of L.A. Street that is known as the blade and

it has expanded dramatically in recent years. Many of these girls are being brought in from around the

country or possibly other countries, and many of them are quite young, some not even in their

teens. You say that this is a result of deliberate choices by the Democratic Party in California.

What do you mean by that? So there are a few aspects of that. We could point to

defunding the police. The New York Times noted that budget cuts played a role here, but the single

biggest policy change was the repeal of a law that made it illegal to loiter with intent to engage
