gardening Instagram.

Darryl, I believe you were one of the first people I ever followed.

So we have Darryl, Chane, founder of House Plant Journal, and the author of The New Plant

Parent Today on the show, and actually for the rest of this week.

And the first topic we're talking about is a new philosophy of house plant care which ties in very directly

with Darrell's work on his Instagram and his website and certainly on his upcoming

book so first of all Darrell thanks for coming on and I think it's long overdue that we had a conversation.

Cool. Cool. So when your book came out, I just read the title the new plant parent and I sort of

already had a little grain of an inkling of an understanding of of the angle you were

coming at and so I think for me coming from the Edibles world and certainly

having some house plants but not a ton that one of my interesting perspectives I

guess was that a lot of people seem to be growing house plants without the

knowledge that these plants all evolved and are endemic to the outdoors in

certain parts of the world right and so they they certainly go through much more varied conditions I guess you could say

than then we often prescribe and so could you kind of give us a little overview of

your philosophy of house plant care because it's quite different

from other people. Yeah so the thing is I've probably been asked so many times to

do like interviews on oh why do you think millennials are really driving up the
