Summary

Thanksgiving is coming this weekend so today we’ll hear a story about an unusual Thanksgiving celebration. Jessie is in the kitchen with Betty preparing a large Thanksgiving celebration but when they finish it is all put into a box and nothing makes it to the table at the house. In another town Jack, Jessie’s brother, is sitting down to a sad Thanksgiving dinner of Sage Hen when a knock on the door brings a surprise. A box full of goodies and a letter for Jack. 0:36.4	Apples are ready for picking and there are pumpkins everywhere.

0:49.9	family. This story is about a boy who has gone away to find work and make his way.
1:02.9	Jack's sister Jesse has found out where he is and she is sending him a Thanksgiving box.
1:10.8	All the treats she is making will be put into the box in hopes of encouraging him to come home.

1:25.3	A mystery in the kitchen.
1:31.7	Something very mysterious was going on in the Jarvis kitchen.
1:39.7	The table was covered with all sorts of good things, eggs and butter and raisins and fruits and spices.
1:51.5	And Jesse with her sleeves rolled up and a white apron on was bustling about, measuring and weighing
2:00.8	and chopping and beating and mixing those various ingredients in a most bewildering way.
2:10.3	Moreover, though she was evidently working for dear life, her face was full of smiles.
2:18.9	In fact, she seemed to have trouble to keep from laughing outright.
2:25.2	While Betty the cook, who was washing potatoes at the sink, fairly giggled with glee.
2:33.5	Every few minutes as if the sight of Miss Jesse working in the kitchen was the funniest thing in the world.
