Summary

Thanksgiving is coming this weekend so today we’ll hear a story about an unusual Thanksgiving celebration. Jessie is in the kitchen with Betty preparing a large Thanksgiving celebration but when they finish it is all put into a box and nothing makes it to the table at the house. In another town Jack, Jessie’s brother, is sitting down to a sad Thanksgiving dinner of Sage Hen when a knock on the door brings a surprise. A box full of goodies and a letter for Jack. Jack's sister Jesse has found out where he is and she is sending him a Thanksgiving box.

Something very mysterious was going on in the Jarvis kitchen.

The table was covered with all sorts of good things, eggs and butter and raisins and fruits and spices.

And Jesse with her sleeves rolled up and a white apron on was bustling about, measuring and weighing

and chopping and beating and mixing those various ingredients in a most bewildering way.

Moreover, though she was evidently working for dear life, her face was full of smiles.

In fact, she seemed to have trouble to keep from laughing outright.
