A street with no history, written by The Whole Truth Is.

I grew up in a Tennessee town with a population of around 27,000. In the late 1990s I had acquired a few years of

driving experience while still attending high school. One day my friend and I decided to take on a leisurely drive, a common pastime at the time

due to the affordable gasoline prices. During our excursion, I made a turn into a neighboring street that was unlike any other in the town.

It felt as if we had been transported to Mexico.

Each house displayed a distinctive Mexican style.

Numerous Latino individuals were outside their residences

staring us down as we drove by.

The striking contrast in architectural styles compared to the Tennessee surrounding areas left both my friend and me bewildered

As we turned at the end of this new street we were back in a recognizable area.

Both my friend and I asked what just happened.

We decided to circle back around the neighborhood to find that street again.

For the life of me, we could not find it. We spent a considerable amount of time driving around,

retracing our paths repeatedly. All there was now? An open field occupying the spot where we had made the turn.

Determined to find it we visited the local library and the city offices in search of current and historical maps of our area.

We found mapped, but we found no street where we remember turning I always remember the eerie feeling of being stared at like we didn't belong and how that feeling was amplified when the street

Seemingly vanished All right was amplified when the street seemingly vanished.

All right, so we have had a lot of stories like this before.

I think we even had one last week.

Yeah. Where the town went missing or something like that. Okay so I mean I've already

said so many times when I think about these situations you think they were

transported to Mexico is that what they were trying to say I mean that's what it sounds
