On September 28, 1974, a devastating discovery occurred in St. Cloud, Minnesota, one that changed

the way children were watched, and still haunts many to this day. So if you like your coffee hot but your bones chilled, sit back and start your day with a

morning cup of murder.

On Labor Day weekend in 1974, Mary Wrecker, 15 years old, and her sister Suzanne Wrecker,

just 12, left their family home in St. Cloud, Minnesota,

to do some school shopping at the nearby Zaire shopping city.

When they failed to return home, the girls were reported missing.

On September 28, 1974, after 26 agonizing days of searching, Mary and Susie's bodies were found in a quarry

just three miles away from their home. A popular place known for playing and swimming was now marred

by devastation. Susie's body was on the top, stabbed a total of 13 times, and Mary's left

unclothed, was found four feet below the surface with six stab wounds. Despite massive efforts,

questioning, media attention, and even some suspects along the way, local police

never had enough to charge anyone with the murders.

The case hit a dead end, and the family was left without any closure.

Feeling hopeless, Rita Wrecker, the girl's mother, said she had a feeling that the only

way they were going to get any answers was from someone's deathbed confession.
