Parenting is not easy, but when you have to do it alone, when you're a single parent, that is even

harder.

I'm John Fuller along with Danny Huerta, and Danny as we talk specifically about single moms. We know there are single dads, but let's talk

about single moms here as we get into the program. What are some of the fears that those moms

have about their boys.

And you're absolutely right, John. Single parenting, I don't wish it on anyone.

That is a very, very difficult thing to do.

It takes a lot of energy, a lot of focus, and you're playing two roles in that case.

And the more I've raised my own kids, the more I feel empathy and compassion for a single parent.

Yeah, I've seen them in a counseling practice,

but when I have my own kids and trying to do that

and have the energy that the kids require and the attention,

it's tough to do.

And I would say that the top concern that I've seen

is sexual identity is a big one for moms

wanting to raise a masculine boy. And a first question I ask is, what's masculinity?

Let's start there. What is masculine? Because there are some that some boys that come in

that are, have maybe mimicked a few more of their sisters

and mom's behaviors. They're the only boy.
