Hello and welcome back to Park Car Convo's. My name's Maddie Mitchell and I am your host today and always because well,

quite frankly, this is literally my podcast. So who else is going to host it? Happy freaking Monday.

I hope we all had inadequate weekend. I think that's like the most we could aim for,

like a good weekend that feels ambitious. I hope we were all able to take the time that we needed

to decompress and to relax and disassociate

and rot and wallow and do all of the things that I know so many of us have been feeling the need to do.

I hope you have given yourself some time and some space for that. This episode today, it's an interesting,

the timing is interesting. It's an interesting time to kind

of dive into religion and some of the ways that it intersects with politics we don't really

get into the politics of it all too much so don't worry about that because I did want this

episode to serve as more of an escape and it will it's a very fascinating topic that we're

discussing we're discussing. We're discussing

Mormonism and Mormon culture with the one and only Haley Rawl who is just she's so fabulous.

I followed her for a really long time. For those of you who don't know Haley, she is the host of

a podcast called Girls Camp and she was born and raised Mormon and actually left the Mormon church

four or five years ago and has a podcast now dedicated to discussing religious deconstruction,

which I find really, really fascinating. Even as someone who has never been Mormon and wasn't

raised around Mormons at all, I have always found the topic

to be really interesting and therefore I find Haley's podcast so, just so cool to listen to.

I think it's so cool to hear about other perspectives and other ways of life, honestly.

But I was so honored when Haley asked me to be on her podcast, so much so that I
