On October 23rd, 2019, a young girl was last seen in a case that saw two strangers cross paths and result in a devastating crime. So if you

like your coffee hot, but your bones chilled, sit back and start your day with a morning cup of

murder. Anaya Haley Blanchard, born June 22, 2000, was the daughter of a businessman and registered

nurse and the stepdaughter of UFC fighter Walt Harris. From Homewood, Alabama, Anaya played softball throughout school, graduated from

Homewood High, and went on to attend Southern Union State Community College, where she

was studying early childhood education with a plan to transfer to Auburn University.

Unfortunately, she would never get the chance to see this plan to fruition.

On October 23rd, 2019, Anaya was last seen at a local Chevron station in Auburn, Alabama.

Officially reported missing the following day, investigators pieced things together

and learned that Anaya had been seen by a family member the night of her disappearance, and had been exchanging snapschats with her roommate until well into the night.

At about 11.09 p.m., she told her roommate that she was close to being home, and exactly 31 minutes later, she said that she was with a man named Eric, someone who she

had just met.

Anaya's phone activity ended seven minutes later at 1147 p.m.

Auburn detective Josh Mixon would later testify that the 19-year-old's phone died or was

powered off in the area of the Clarion Inn on South College Street. And according to her roommate

and her parents, Anaya's behavior was so uncharacteristic that they wondered if it was even her
