Welcome back to the Book Riot Podcast. We're recording on today the first day of

October. Is it feeling like fall there at all, Rebecca? Do you get in full

vibes? Yeah, we're getting fall vibes. We had a week last month that like the

highs were in the mid-60s and it was perfect fall, but we call that false fall here, it always happens. Then it was hot again for several days and it's like warm here, but we're having at least the thing where it's cool in the mornings and the evenings, afternoons get like up into the 70s but I have on I'm wearing

sleeves which is a novel concept in Virginia after the summer and drinking hot tea so things are happening we're

progressing yeah we're we're having a little bit of summer holding on highs in the

80s here in the afternoons and feeling like it's still it's hard to believe it's I mean as we've talked about on this show and everyone on Twitter or other places made jokes about how what is time in 2020 but it definitely feels like out of

out of sorts it's the summer that wouldn't end I feel like in a lot of way in a lot

of ways even though school has school all the air quotes in the world

has started I mean the seasonal demarcations now are we had before COVID

lockdowns and then a season that is from the COVID

lockdowns to the election I think is all one season for 2020 that's a whole

unit and then whatever happens after will be its season until whatever so seasons are cancelled is what I'm

saying they're no longer usable calendar epistemes that we can use to

understand what's going on.
