Hello, my friends. Welcome back to the Morning Mindset. We are walking through the kind of

a character sketch of the biblical character of Daniel, and we're using his life and the

work God did through his life to draw lessons out for ourselves so that we can align our

minds with God's truth. We're looking today at Daniel chapter 4 verses 19 through 27.

Daniel has just been told a dream that the king Nebuchadnezzar has had, and Nebuchadnezzar

is asking Daniel to do what he's done before by interpreting the dream because it's a very

troubling dream to the king. Now here in verse 19, after Daniel has heard the dream, we're

going to see a response from Daniel that we haven't seen before in his response to the

king's dreams. Let's just read it, and then we'll talk about it when we're finished.

This is Daniel 4 19 through 27. It says, then Daniel, whose name was Belta Shazar, was

dismayed for a while, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king answered and said,

Belta Shazar let not the dream or the interpretation alarm you. Belta Shazar answered and said,

My Lord, may the dream be for those who hate you and its interpretation for your enemies.

The tree you saw which grew and became strong so that its top reached to heaven and it was

visible to the end of the whole earth, whose leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant

and in which was food for all, and under which beasts of the field found shade and in whose

branches the birds of the heavens lived, it is you, O king, who have grown and become

strong. Your greatness has grown and reaches to heaven in your dominion to the ends of

the earth. And because the king saw a watcher, a holy one coming down from heaven and saying,

Chop down the tree and destroy it. But leave the stump of its root in the earth, bound with a

band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field and let him be wet with the dew of

the heavens and let his portion be with the beasts of the field till seven periods of time pass over him.
