This is Season 6, Pondering the Psalms.

Today's meditation focuses on Psalm 27, one of the most popular Psalms in the Bible.

Psalm 27 is an expression of David's confidence and trust in God, and a longing and desire for

one thing only, to live in God's presence all the days of his life. As I meditated on this

Psalm, it reminded me how I love searching out cathedrals when I travel to a new city, pulling away from all the noise,

and entering into the spacious place of God's majestic presence.

I once traveled to Spain and walked around one of the most incredible cathedrals ever built by man,

the Sagrada Familia by architect and Tony Gotti. The outside of the cathedral is the most amazing work of art,

but because of time restraints, I never got a chance to enter into the inner sanctuary.

To this day, I regret missing the splendor of the architect's incredible imagination and creativity.

And it reminds me of how often we come near to God, but because of time restraints or other distractions,

we don't fully enter in to receive all that is waiting for us.

So today, I invite you to fully enter in, to take off your shoes and know you are standing on holy ground.

The architect of all of creation invites you into the cathedral of his loving presence.

So take several slow, deep breaths and center your thoughts and your imagination on entering into God's majestic cathedral. Now, let's settle in and begin.
