So welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for, praying especially for

the healing of Olivia Canile.

This Rosary meditation was written by Jeannie Sherman as she prepared for death.

The first mystery.

My desire is to be a saint, and my fear is not of being ready.

These are the words of Genie.

I have a very vivid memory of my desire not just to be a saint but to become a great saint. And two quotes resonated with me.

They moved in my heart and fueled my passion to the end. The first was by the French novelist Leonbloy, the only real sadness, the only real failure, the only great tragedy in life is not to become a saint.

The second was by C.S. Lewis and mere Christianity.

The command, be ye perfect is not idealistic, nor is it a command to do the impossible. God is going to make us

into creatures that can obey that command. He said in the Bible that we are gods and he is going to make good his words if we let him for we can prevent him if we choose.

He will make the feeblest and filthiest of us into a god or goddesses,

a dazzling radiant radiant, immortal creature pulsating all through with such energy and joy and wisdom and love, as we cannot now imagine a bright stainless mirror which reflects

back to God perfectly his own boundless power and delight in goodness.

The process will be long and in parts very painful, but that is what we are in for. Nothing less. He meant what he said and he could do what he promised.

Jeannie writes, I had such a deep desire to be a saint, a great saint. I know that may sound

arrogant, but it became my heart's desire.

And it should become our heart's desire.
