0:49.0	A stunning ruling from Colorado Supreme Court is adding new drama to the 2024 election
0:54.9	season. The court ruled Donald Trump is ineligible to hold office again and
1:00.0	cannot appear on the state's Republican primary ballot.
1:03.4	This decision was based on section 3 of the 14th amendment.
1:07.7	What does that mean?
1:08.6	Well, it disqualifies candidates from federal office who have engaged in insurrection.
1:14.1	The court found Trump did so on January 6th, writing this, quote,
1:18.7	President Trump incited and encouraged the use of violence and lawless action to dispute the peaceful
1:24.9	transfer of power. The court has put its decision on hold until January 4th to allow for
1:31.0	further appeals. The Trump campaign spokesperson signaled an appeal
1:34.8	to the Supreme Court saying in part the following, quote, we have full confidence
1:39.3	that the US Supreme Court will quickly rule in our favor.
