Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls and those who don't identify as either, you are listening to Ratchet and Respectable.

So much to talk about this week. So much. I feel like I picked the most inopportune time to take the podcast from two episodes to one.

I'm not doing a second one right now. But still, I acknowledge that there's a lot going on and I probably

could do two episodes a week at the episodes have been averaging like an hour and 20 minutes and I'm

still not talking about everything there is to talk about. There's so much in entertainment, in politics, in good black news too, and also just in life.

Like I just, I have so much going on right now.

Oh my gosh.

I went up to New York on Friday, Bevy, Bevy Smith, author, actress, Living Legend. She hosts many things. One of her events

is Dining with Bevy, not to be confused with dinner with Bevy. That's a separate thing.

She does an event called Dining with Bevy, Life with Vision, where she hosts a brunch, four-hour brunch,

and it's a seminar. There's like writing and notes and PowerPoint presentations her

purpose is to help predominantly women there were a lot of men in the room over the weekend but to help

people who want to level up their lives I would say most of the people in the room were like 35

and up.

And I mean up like, you know, one woman was like, I turned 60 on Tuesday.

And I was like, well, all right.

Like people who just want to do more.

Some people have a big dream and they just need a push to go chase it.

And then there are other people who are in an unfulfilled state and they just don't know what's next.

And so they're trying to figure out the vision. Bevy called me up maybe a month ago. And I've known Bevby since I was 21 years old. When I was in grad school, I was a vibe intern. That was my

first entertainment, quote, unquote, job, even though I got paid nothing. I did start writing for the

magazine, though, and I was like, um, y'all need to pay me? And they were like, we don't pay interns.
