Connor Beaton here.

0:06.5

And today we are going to dive deep into how you stop numbing out.

0:13.0

And we're going to talk about what it is, what actually is numbing out.

0:16.5

We're going to talk about why does it happen.

0:18.5

And then I'm going to end this little episode with how do you

0:22.4

actually stop? How do you actually move through it? So there's a couple pieces that we're going to

0:27.7

start with. Number one is just the biggest misconception around numbing out. The biggest misconception

0:32.7

that most men have and most of us go through when it comes to numbing out is the notion that when

0:39.2

you're numb, you're not feeling anything. And that couldn't be further from the truth.

1:12.7

shape, or form, either by using an external substance like booze, weed, porn, food, etc., TV,

1:19.9

social media, or by literally just disconnecting from what you are feeling in your body.

1:27.3

And this allows you to go back into the safety

1:30.6

net of your brain, where you can just go back into your mind and go back into your thoughts

1:36.2

and not have to deal with what's happening in your body. So numbness, first and foremost,

1:41.8

is an emotional and physical state.

1:45.2

It's actually an experience where you disconnect from the sensations in the body and the emotions that are happening in your body.
