Hey friends, welcome to today's encouragement from Our Daily Bread.

Marvin Williams authored today's reading, and he titled it A Loving Warning.

In 2010, a tsunami struck the Indonesian island of Sumatra, killing more than 400 people.

0:21.6

But the deaths could have been prevented or minimized had the tsunami warning system been working properly.

0:28.6

The tsunami detection networks, the buoys, had become detached and drifted away.

Jesus said his disciples had a responsibility to warn fellow disciples of things that could

0:40.4

harm them spiritually, including unrepentant sin. In Matthew 18, he outlined a process in which

1:33.1

and of the joys of restoration to our Heavenly Father and other believers.

1:39.3

Jesus will be there with us as we do.

1:52.3

Today's Our Daily Bread Devotional Scripture reading is from Matthew chapter 18 verses 15 through 20.

1:55.1

If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you.

2:02.2

If they listen to you,

2:08.9

you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If they still

2:14.7

refuse to listen, tell it to the church, and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
