Hey guys, welcome back to We Met at Acme. Today is a very interesting and spiritual episode

with Mickey, who is an energy spiritual reader and psychic. He has some really

fascinating things to say and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on all of them.

But before we get into Mickey, I wanted to do a little bit of a solo to chat with you guys about

things that either you asked me or I was thinking about the first thing is standards versus expectations.

Someone asked me to get into that. Well, I don't really believe in expectations. I think that they

lead to disappointment as we've discussed, right? Like expectations are the thief of joy.

Standards is just like, you know, what you're okay with and what you're not okay with. Like

having high standards and high expectations, I think are pretty different.

Having expectations is expecting something from someone and having standards is more like,

I just won't accept anything less than this. And I think when you

get confused about the difference between the two of them is when you're disappointed.

Standards is like, I hold this person to this standard and granted, you can still be disappointed

if they don't reach your standards, but expectations is expecting them to.

Standards is just like, this is what I want and what I expect. And I'm going to actually look

them both up to give you like an actual definition. Standards is a level of quality or attainment.

And expectations are a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future.

So expectations is like hoping and expecting, whereas standards is like,

this is the level of quality that I need. Someone wanted to talk about, okay, so actually,
