Tonight, I'll be reading Part 7, Chapter 9 of A Little Princess by Francis Hodgson-. In the previous chapters, Miss Minchin strips Sarah of her privileged life after learning of her father's

death, banishing her to the cold, bare attic. She is overworked and neglected, and the loyalty

of her friends Becky and Ermengarde, who bravely visits her in the attic. Sarah begins to cope by

pretending her miserable situation is a grand adventure, like being a prisoner

in the Bastille, an act of pretending she vows to continue to endure.

Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep.
