So without further ado, let's get into our shorter companion episode about Michelle Mockby.

Michelle Ann Mockby, Nay Whalen, was born August 8, 1969 in Covington, Kentucky to John and Patricia Whalen.

She was the older sister to three siblings, Jennifer, Cynthia, and Christopher.

Michelle was described by her siblings as the quintessential big sister. She was fun, caring, and outgoing.

She was known to make everyone around her laugh.

When she was young, she enjoyed going to concerts, having big hair, basically a true 80s girl.

She listened to Motley Crew and Warrant.

She loved the Cincinnati Reds and would attend baseball games all of the time.

Sometime in the late 90s, early 2000s, Michelle began working at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Florence, Kentucky.

They were a provider of laboratory supplies. She was working as a logistic support representative, but she also helped out with accounting

and payroll for the employees. It was there that she met Carl Dan Mockby, who went by Dan. Dan was

a supervisor at the supplier, and while attending the company Christmas party, he finally got a chance to

spend some time with the woman he had been eyeing at work. That woman was Michelle. Dan and Michelle spent the whole evening together,

but Dan was certain he had blown it. He felt that the night had just gone horribly. But Michelle

must have thought otherwise, because she began dating Dan. Dan said that after he met Michelle, his whole world

changed. He was used to working 12 to 13-hour days with little to nothing exciting happening to him.
