0:13.6	My personal, my very first creative effort that was out in the world in any material way,
0:18.5	that was beyond some chicken scratch that my parents stuck to the fridge was a film production. It was called the Sons of Zorro. And that film that I produced when I
0:26.9	was, I don't know, five or six or eight, I don't remember, it wouldn't have gone anywhere. I showed it
0:32.4	in the neighborhood and it was sold out. It actually was a profitable film. If you can make that,
0:36.1	I think it made $27.
0:44.3	That would not have gotten anywhere without the help of the other kids that I was collaborating with in the neighborhood.
0:52.0	It would have ended up like the teenager in American Beauty with 10 minutes of footage of a plastic bag swirling in the wind.
0:56.3	What I needed way back then in my first film was collaborators to help realize my creative vision. I had no idea how to operate a moving picture camera,
1:01.8	but I had a friend's dad who had one, and I had a friend who was at least reasonably good
1:10.6	at operating the thing. And without both of those
1:13.7	folks, I would have been stuck. I think the same thing is true for you. I needed collaborators to
1:19.3	realize my vision and so do you. I'm wondering if there is a place in your life that you might be
1:23.9	stuck right now. And if you went to your Rolodex, to your friend circle, or
1:30.3	heaven forbid maybe even to the internet, to a community that you're a part of, could you find
1:35.1	someone to help you? What is often not talked about because it's either inconvenient or a little bit
1:40.8	awkward or it's just slow and fumbling is that collaboration is still a huge piece of my work, right?
1:49.0	It's one of my favorite ways to stretch myself as an artist, whether this is in the photo studio or building businesses at Creative Live.
