First Chronicles chapter 7, verse 27, super short verse,

0:09.2

in the middle of this list of names, we read these six words, two names,

0:14.4

none his son, then Joshua his son. So as you read through these opening chapters

0:22.5

and first Chronicles, you see these genealogies, all these lists of names,

0:28.8

and it's really a powerful picture. We talked about the son as we were praying through

0:32.3

first Chronicles chapter 1 to see how every one of these names matters,

0:39.6

and every single one of these names has a part to play in this big picture story of the Bible,

1:41.4

of the law depart for your mouth, meditate on it day and night, be careful to do according to

1:46.4

all that is written in it, and then you will make your pray prosperous, then you will have good

1:52.0

success. Joshua, whose name means the Lord saves, it's a picture of salvation in him and his

2:00.7

leadership that ultimately points to Jesus, all of this to say, that's just one name, Joshua,

2:09.0

who obviously does play a pivotal part in the story of the Old Testament,

2:14.4

but as you read through different names and these parts of the Bible, just pause and thank God,

2:24.1

for his grace, praise God, for his beauty in wonderfully creating each of these people,
