1 Chronicles chapter 5, verse 20,

and when they had prevailed over them, the hygrites,

and all who were with them were given into their hands,

for they cried out to God in the battle,

and he granted their urgent plea because they trusted in him.

Oh, does you hear the last phrases in this verse?

So this is talking about how the Rubenites and the Gadites

and the half tribe of Manasseh had gone into battle with the hygrites,

and the Bible tells us in 1 Chronicles chapter 5, verse 20

that the hygrites were given into their hands.

Why? Because the Rubenites, Gadites, half tribe of Manasseh

had cried out to God in the battle,

and God granted their urgent plea because they trusted in him.

So just think about that language,

crying out to God in the middle of battle.

And this is a picture we see all over the Bible.

Even when I think about Ephesians chapter 6

and the armor of God, and how that whole list of different

pieces in the armor of God,

you get to the end of that passage,

and Paul says, please pray for me in the middle of spiritual battle.
