Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through scripture

with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a systematic

study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

Over the past couple of searchlight programs we have been looking at a lesson on lust.

Our lesson comes from a story in 2nd Samuel, Chapter 13. In this story,

Amnon rapes his half-sister, Tamar, and then despises her. But that is not the end of the story.

Tamar's brother Absalom avenges his sister and kills Amnon. Let's now join

Pastor John as he explains this sad mess and then explains to us how we can avoid it.

See this is the story of lust. Every man is enticed by his own lust, James says, and when lust has conceived it brings forth

sin and when sin is finished, it brings forth death.

And now you have a dead man, a broken-hearted dad,

a depressed sister, and it's all because of lust you see. Lust. What a lesson.

This is a lesson. This is a lesson on lust. I understand that it's something which is problematic. God declares when lust works out the end result is death.

Gals if you allow lust to be a part of the relationship that you're in outside of marriage, there'll be death. What do you mean? What do you mean death? He'll kill you? What do you mean

death? He'll kill you? What? Oh, I don't mean physically, God forbid.
