I appreciate you so much for taking the time to just come out here and, you know, be a part of this whole discussion's important so yeah thank you so much for having me i'm very excited to see what we get into today yeah obviously

adoption's a huge the whole thing that we're kind of trying to elevate voices here and you're an

adoptee so can you like kind of just like give us the summarization of what is you

the broad over? Yeah yeah. Okay so I'm all these fancy labels to say I'm a transracial

adoptee. I'm also a late discovery international adoptee. What does that mean? So that means I

didn't find out that I was adopted until much later in life. So for me, I was 19.

And my parents whitewashed me, essentially, for 19 years of my life and totally integrated me into their Italian Portuguese culture.

And then at 19, I found my brother's adoption paperwork that referenced me being adopted. And so the cat was out of the

bag. And so not only did I find out about myself, but I had to tell him because now I was just
