Hamas agreed to a ceasefire deal yesterday,

but the fighting in Gaza continues.

Hamas said it had agreed to a ceasefire deal mediated by Qatar and Egypt.

The news led to celebrations in the streets of Gaza.

But it quickly became clear that there would be no immediate end to the violence.

Israel said it would negotiate the deal, but that what Hamas had agreed to was far from Israel's requirements.

And Israel vowed to press on with its long-awaited military campaign in Rafa.

That's a city in southern Gaza, where more than a million Palestinians are sheltering.

Earlier yesterday, the Israeli military had ordered tens of thousands of civilians to evacuate immediately from the city.

And this morning, Israel said it had taken evacuate immediately from the city.

And this morning, Israel said it had taken control of the Gaza side of Rafa's border crossing with Egypt.
