Hello and welcome to another episode of Iway with Jameela Jamil, a podcast against shame.

0:04.4

I hope you're well and I want to warn you upfront that this is not an easy lesson because

0:11.9

we are dealing with the subject of sexual trauma, sexual assault and the incredibly tricky

0:18.4

aftermath of that, especially for someone who is queer or gender non-conforming.

0:23.4

1:30.4

that had on their mental health. We discussed the services and support available to trans,

1:34.8

queer and unbinary people and why it's important to ask for support.

1:38.5

And we discuss exactly how trauma responses look so different than everyone and how there is

1:44.5

really no right way to feel. I think from films and books and TV and songs we have this

1:50.5

kind of finite idea of what trauma is supposed to look like in ourselves.

1:55.4

And therefore we can't spot it when it comes in more covert ways and from different angles
