I'm Charles Coleman Jr. filling in for Ali Velshi, and we've got a lot to talk about.

Now, the holiday weekend has not slowed down the news or the president's stream of

social media proclamations. Over night, Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital of Kiev.

Ukrainian president Zelensky has said that over 500 Russian drones and 40 missiles were sent

toward the city. Damage assessments are ongoing. This is happening as Zelensky is set to meet with President Trump

tomorrow in Mar-Largo to try and reach an agreement on a peace plan with Russia. While the U.S. and

Ukraine have seemed eager to reach an agreement on how to end the war, Trump told political

yesterday that Zelensky, quote, doesn't have anything until I approve it. And whether Russia will

compromise all

remains an open question. Elsewhere, on Christmas Day, the United States military struck

parts of northern Nigeria, reportedly targeting ISIS militants. In an interview, Russia's, I'm

sorry, Nigerian's foreign minister said the U.S. strike was done with cooperation from Nigerian authorities.

President Trump said the strikes were in response to the persecution of Christians in the region.

Nigerian government officials have rejected Trump's claim that a Christian genocide is taking place in the country.

Still, the president called it a very bad Christmas present for ISIS.

But ongoing violence in Nigeria has harmed both Christians and Muslim communities there.

Also on Christmas, the president sent this holiday message out to Americans,

one that despite all this other news, revealed where his head really was at.
