privilege in the world to be with so many friends from all over the world who join me every

week to listen to my stories, inspiration, biblical encouragement. And I am just so glad

Hello my friends, it's Sally Clarkson with at Home with Sally and friends and I'm so

delighted to be with you today. I love this series that I'm going to be doing. It's

a very dear to my heart. The series that I'm going to be doing for the next few weeks

is called Ten Gifts of Heart. What your child needs to take to heart before leaving home.

And today we will be talking about the first chapter. Now I mentioned last week that

Clay and I as we look over the landscape, especially now that I live in Oxford, I meet

so many young adults who were raised in the faith or who attended church or who had

questions about God and many of them have left the foundation of this incredible faith foundation

that they were given. I know that many of you cared deeply about passing on a love for

God to your children in a way of looking at the world, a way of giving your children

the foundations in such a way that it will hold them as they go into a very secular world.

But I think oftentimes what parents run into when their children are older is issues of morality,

issues of relationships and doubts in their faith. And sometimes we forget to look at what

God did, both in Genesis and also Jesus did in his life in order to holistically reach

the hearts and the minds of his own children. We see that God provided Adam and Eve, even

though they turned away, he provided them with a beautiful environment, with purpose,

with love, with companionship. He longed to walk with him in the garden. And so he starts

out by looking at their whole selves as someone, a person who would be informed by who he
