We're going to be in 1st Corinthians 12 if you want to read ahead, and that's where we're going to draw our text from this morning.

Would you turn with me to 1 Corinthians chapter 12?

Paul is going to talk to us about the body.

Now, it's interesting, your body is quite incredible,

you know, especially in light of the fact that last week, many of us abused our poor bodies on Thursday. 3,000 calories the average person had for dinner with another 1,500 calories in

snacks before and after. There you are, 4,500 calories in snacks before and after.

There you are, 4,500 calories, and yet you're still here.

You survived to tell the tale.

And we're glad to have you at church.

But your stomach is kind of an amazing thing.

Did you know your stomach secretes hydrochloric acid, HCI with a pH as low as 1.0, that acid can dissolve metal.

Don't believe me? In the old Guinness Book of World Records, there was a guy, I think his name

was Michael Lolito. He was famous for eating things and broke the world record and a bunch of things.

First big thing is he ate a shopping cart. You know, they

grounded up into little pieces and he ate the whole thing. Then he went from shopping carts to

bicycles. He ate several bicycles. And if you remember, what was the biggest thing he ate? Anybody

remember? A Cessna airplane. He ate an airplane digested the whole thing. You think, how in the

world? Well, some people have a certain

level of acid in their stomach. That's quite amazing. He was one. But the question you might

ask, how does your stomach, if your stomach can digest, you know, even it's been known as bone

and meat and all that stuff, why isn't your stomach eating itself

with all that acid in it well the answer is interesting your stomach is lined with certain kinds of
