When June Matthews purchased a fixer-upper just north of Spokane, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to create a dream starter home. Aside from an uneasy feeling in the basement—an odd chill and the sense of being watched—there was little to suggest anything was out of the ordinary.
At first, those moments were easy to dismiss. But after moving in, subtle disturbances began to build. Lights flickered without cause, footsteps echoed through empty rooms, and the basement door developed a habit of opening when it shouldn’t—or refusing to stay closed at all.
