This This Sunday marks the 77th anniversary of D-Day, a day we honor and, of course, remember, for the brave young men who sacrificed so much to free us from tyranny. One of those young men risked his life to fight for

our freedom, and his name was Jack Claiborne. Now Jack is 96 years old. He was only 19 when he

stormed Omaha Beach as a helmsman and a gunner that day. He joins me now with his heroic untold story.

Jack, first of all, thank you so much for your service in World War II. And thanks for talking

with me today. Yes, ma'am. So, Jack, just tell me briefly, if you would, growing up as a young

boy in Tennessee. What do you remember about joining the Navy or deciding to go enlist?

Tell me about that memory.

Well, I was still in high school, and they drafted me out of high school and

right and I went to the

induction station at a

and the man down there

wanted to know if I wanted to be in the Navy

and I told him no

I had five brothers in the Army

and I didn't know anything about the Navy and I told him, no, I had five brothers in the Army and I didn't know
