Welcome back, I'm Rebecca. And I'm Gabe, Gabe and listen we're excited for today's conversation because it's going to take on a few different levels. It starts very deep in terms of personal story from Scott Salz who were interviewing and some of you

maybe know Scott you've heard of him he's a pastor of a church called Christ

Presbyterian here in Nashville but we were together in New York for a season and he's a prolific

author has written some amazing books and his most recent one is called a

gentle answer our secret weapon in an age of us against them. What I love about Scott is his willingness to be transparent

just about his own walking through anxiety and depression.

Yeah, he's always been vulnerable and as a senior pastor I think I find that very admirable because it is so easy to not

feel freedom to do that but the very act that he does disarms it doesn't

condemn there's no shame and it actually invites people in the healing.

And so he's a safe trusted friend.

You feel that quickly because he's always willing to lead with vulnerability.

Yeah, so we're going to talk about his own bouts with depression.

We're going to talk about suicide.

We're going to have conversations about the current political strife and tribalism that's

happening in our culture.
