Summary

In May 2016, 31 year-old Nicole VanderHeyden, a mom of three, was found dead in a field. Initially, her boyfriend was suspected as they had been in a fight, but his FitBit data showed that he was elsewhere during the murder. That's when they realized someone else's DNA was on Nicole's body.

0:39.3

it was going one way. And I was pretty confident about that. And then as I learned more and more

0:44.7

details, it completely shifted. I don't want to give anything away. So I'm going to jump right in here.

0:51.0

But this is definitely a case that needs more awareness. More people should

0:55.0

know about Nicole's story and what she went through at the end of her life. It is just so

1:00.0

tragic. Nicole seemed like an awesome person. She was a mother and she was a great mother. And the

1:05.9

fact that her children have to live the rest of their lives without her is I don't even have words for that.

1:12.6

Before I jump into her case though, I wanted to thank each and every one of you from the

1:16.3

bottom of my heart who participated in our holiday matching program raising funds for my foundation
