| 0:28.1 | My name is Gene, and I'm from Houston, Texas. But the story actually took place not too far from |
| 0:34.4 | Branson, Missouri in a small town named Monette. |
| 0:38.3 | And it actually takes place in the house that my great-grandfather built. |
| 0:43.3 | And I apologize in advance if it seems like this is a bit long, |
| 0:46.3 | but there's actually several parts that tie together. |
| 0:49.3 | As I said, the house was built by my great-granddad, |
| 0:53.3 | and it's the same, we called him Hoppy, |
| 0:55.3 | although his actual name was different than that. |
| 0:58.9 | And he, they raised all kinds of animals. |
| 1:02.8 | They had a ranch, had horses, and other things, and Hoppy was a pretty scry guy, |
| 1:07.0 | and would go out on the ranch and just ride and check out the herd. |
| 1:12.0 | And he had its favorite axe that he carried everywhere with him. |
| 1:16.6 | And as he got older, my family that still lives there, became more concerned that he was |
| 1:22.5 | going to be injured. |
| 1:24.2 | And so they took his axe and they hid it from him. |
| 1:26.8 | And this really made him very angry. |
| 1:29.1 | It was a really nice man, but he had a temper like anyone would, especially when they get older and start to realize things aren't going like they used to. |
| 1:37.1 | And so he looked for that act, couldn't find it anywhere. |
| 1:40.6 | And I guess when I was about 12, he died rather suddenly, and the axe was never found. |
