of 43 young people to adult prison. The Department of Children, Youth, and Families transferred

the young people last week from the Green Hill School to an adult DOC facility in Shelton, they said due to overcrowding.

CLS filed for a motion for an injunction this week. They said the transfers were unannounced and violated the law.

A judge granted an expedited hearing in Thurston County Superior Court for the motion on Friday.

Students and faculty who attend UW Tacoma will be returning to in-person classes Monday.
