At age 20, Sarah Adams was surprised to learn she had Asperger Syndrome. Rather than feel limited by her diagnosis, Sarah has been able to use this knowledge as a powerful tool, implementing strategies to be successful in both her personal and professional lives. That's why I remember it's a sort of just like what's wrong with me?

And so she went over my medical history and I just remember she had me on the table

feeling my stomach like a normal thing that doctors do. And I'm just like jumping off the table

because I don't like that. And she says, was this hurting you? And I was thinking like, no,

it's not hurting. But I'm just like jumping off the table. And so afterwards she just kind of like

casually like, have you ever been evaluated for Asperger's? And this was 2012. So I was 20.

And I was thinking like, no, I actually did a report on this in high school. I was in a piece

psychology my senior year. And I was part of a group that worked with kids with Asperger's at our

school. And so I was like relatively familiar with this and thought like, no, those kids don't

go to college. Those kids don't like make eye contact. Those kids don't grow up playing sports

and going to AP classes and just all the stuff I've done. So I was like, okay. And then I came home

started looking it up. And the more I read, the more I was like, oh, this is the thing that like,
