Crimes against children are always a horrific topic to cover,

especially when the culprit is a member of their own family.

On June 18, 2009, a young girl was reported missing in France, in a case that very quickly

became something far more devastating than it initially appeared. So if you like your coffee hot, but your bones chilled, sit back and start your day with a morning

cup of murder.

Tifane Tatan was born in 2004 to Anne Sophie for sure and Francois Tatan.

Her mother, just 18 years old at the time, was already raising another daughter, Caroline, who was born in 2003.

And according to a later testimony, Typhane was a, quote, unwanted baby.

Admitting that she slightly rejected her daughter, so much so that Typhane called her Madame instead of mom.

Anne Sophie also reported that her relationship with Francois had been, quote, strained

ever since she was born.

Officially divorcing in 2005, in 2006, Anne Sophie met a man named Nicholas Willott,

and together took custody of Tifane and Caroline, who previously had been living with their grandmother.

What should have been a happy reunion turned strange just a few years later, when on January 22nd, 2009, just after giving birth to her third child, Anne Sophie suddenly

withdrew Tifane from kindergarten. Living in Unwa, Amari, at the time, one of Tifane's

paternal aunts saw the young girl in April of 2009, and in describing the five-year-old's drastic transformation,

said that the young girl had lost a considerable amount of weight, had a face far too thin
